wee overview pt.1

Heeeere we go again.
This Site was down due to a stupid little mistake I made with a stupid little script I tried to install.
I’m sorry!
Now I found it (I lost it somewhere in all this HTML-chaos), deleted it and already promised never to install stupid little scrips no more.
Beside crawling through my cryptic site code I made some new bags of course:
Good morning home planet.
Berlin, 9:53, I’m tired.
No wonder I’m tired, I was up all night sewing some wee things…
This bag drove me crazy:

Outer Fabric is Amy Butlers French Wallpaper and the lining is silk so there was no chance to pin while sewing. Both outer fabric and lining had to be hold by hand while sewing. I learned my lesson now!
This one’s new as well, No. 9, named “early winter” because the pattern reminds me of tracery on a frosted window, wich is called “eisblumen” in german; literally “ice flowers”.

I made a cosmetic pouch with the same fabrics:

Good chance that there will come more from this fabric combination, I like it a lot:)
But not yet, now it’s time to rest.
….is the name of this:

…she comes in colours everywhere…
(but doesn’t comb her hair…*gnarf*)
Here’s the rest of what I did instead of sleeping:

I’m pretty much into sewing simple but useful little bags these days.
I can sew them with closed eyes now:), I eally made a lot. Costumers love those because I sell them quite cheap. My thought was to have something really cheap in my shop to catch some interest for my other things. No idea if it works but I already sold some… let’s wait and see.
…or why da Wanda is still too small:
Ok, first thing I have to mention on this is that I do know that Etsy is much bigger than little da Wanda and that it is not fair to compare but I feel so much more wellcome and comfortable on Etsy that this post just has to be written now.
I run my little da Wanda store for several month now but never felt really good with it. Sure was I proud when I opened and made my first sale and met other sellers in Indiepublic or wherever. But even though da Wanda is german and should be much easier for me to use, I connected others in english-spoken communities and forums, I never got in touch with other german sellers yet.
One view into the german forum on da Wanda always reminds me why I don’t want to take part on their discussions… It just don’t spread the atmosphere like th etsy forum does. It is barely hard to become involved into the german community. On etsy you say “hello!” -and that’s it.
I guess da Wanda still hasn’t enough sellers who chat and talk, and I think as well that it will become very hard for the german section to grow that big. i know there is an english site as well but why shoul I take part on english da Wanda when I can have english Etsy wich is much bigger and more popular?
So I decided to just let my da Wanda store as it is right now and to hang out on etsy as much as I can (I love the forum and the new virtual labs!). I set up a second etsy store for fabrics and vintage and am working on that right now. (Vintage, another topic that does not exist on da Wanda).
Bye da Wanda!
I’ll be back when you’ve grown a little.
But I have to keep an eye on my own business and etsy is the better place right now.
